Spotting a mirror APK before you tap install
Several mirror apps share the Yono Arcade icon but use a different package name. This guide shows how to read the install prompt, how to compare the package name and version, and when to cancel the install and start over.
Why mirror APKs exist
The YONO family has many brand names, and the icons are similar enough that a casual installer cannot tell them apart from a screenshot. Mirror apps copy the icon and the name but use a different package. Some are legitimate regional variants; others are unrelated products.
How to read the install prompt
Before tapping Install, Android shows the package name, the version, the file size and the requested permissions. Compare each of these to the values on the verified install page. The package name is the most important field. The icon can be copied, the package name is harder to fake.
Three things to check
- Package name. Does it match the verified value on the install page? If not, cancel.
- Version. Does the version number look current? Mirror apps sometimes ship with stale version numbers.
- Permissions. Does the app ask for more than it needs? Yono Arcade asks for storage and optional notifications only.
When to cancel and start over
If any of the three checks above fails, cancel the install and return to the verified route. Do not grant the “Allow from this source” permission to a mirror app. That permission allows future installs from the same source.
What to do if you already installed a mirror
Uninstall the mirror app, then reinstall Yono Arcade from the verified route. Your account, wallet and VIP level are server-side and survive a clean reinstall.
